The Verdunville Elementary Pre K Class of Mrs. Secrist had a Fire Safety Day to celebrate National Fire Safety Week. The children were visited by firefighters from the Verdunville Volunteer Fire Department Station No. 900. Fireman Williamson and his wife, Misty, had an interactive program for the kids. The children were instructed on what do to in case of a fire, how to be safe in preventing fires, and what a fireman's job is when going on a fire call. The fire trucks were brought to the school to show the children all the equipment and how it works. The students got to take turns getting into the fire truck while wearing their 'fireman hats' and gear. They were treated with goody bags, coloring books, rulers, stickers, and fingerprint kits were sent home with each child for their parents. Verdunville Elementary, The Pre K Class of Mrs. Debra Secrist and Barbara A. Porter, principal, wish to thank the Verdunville Volunteer Fire Department for taking the time to present the program to the students. We appreciate all that you do for our school and for the Verdunville Community. Photo/Submitted
