Congratulations to the Logan High School Wildcats cheerleaders for winning the Class AAA state cheer championship on Saturday at the Charleston Civic Center Coliseum.

Your performance and routine were flawless and you beat some of the best cheerleading teams in the state. You've made the entire county proud!

Cheerleaders put in many long hours working hard and perfecting their routines and Logan High School achieved the payoff by winning the state crown.

The LHS cheerleaders also made history by being the first cheerleading team from Logan to win the state cheer title. That's another great feat!

Now, the Logan cheer squad will have to get back to work to prepare to defend their title next year.

We also want to congratulate the Gilbert High School cheerleading team for capturing the state runner-up trophy in Class A.

The Gilbert cheer team performed an awesome routine and placed second behind a very good Clay-Battelle team that was runner-up last year.

And Williamson High School's cheerleading team performed well at the state cheer competition.

All three teams had large crowds cheering them on.

All of Mingo County is proud of the Gilbert and Williamson cheerleaders.

Good job, Logan, Gilbert and Williamson for making it to the state cheer competition! And congratulations to Logan and Gilbert for showing the rest state that we have the best cheerleaders here in southern West Virginia!
