Area police have been busy recently making several arrests.

• Patricia Ann Williams, 31, of Mt. Gay was arrested in Logan by Logan Police Sgt. Dave White and Patrolman Aaron Newsome for possession of a controlled substance, and third-degree, felony shoplifting on Dec. 17.

According to police reports, at 9 p.m. on Dec. 17, the officers responded to a shoplifting call from Wal mart and spoke with store security personnel.

“The employees stated the accused did conceal items, take items out of the original packaging, and attempt to leave the store," the report states, adding the amount of the items was $933.58 and that Williams was allegedly wearing a pair of boots belonging to the store.

"This officer then found a cellophane package containing eight xanax in the accused's purse.”

Williams was booked at the regional jail at 11:40 p.m. Also arrested in relation to the incident was:

• Saul Williams, 32, of Mt. Gay, was arrested by Sgt. White and Patrolman Newsome for second-offense shoplifting on Dec. 17.

• Jessica Marie Adkins, 22, of Cyclone, was arrested in Logan County by Sgt. W.D. Walls of the Man Police Department for possession of a controlled substance on Dec. 11.

She was booked at the regional jail at 5:54 a.m.

She was released on bond.

• Chad Allen Bailey, 28, of Cyclone, was arrested in Logan County by Officer Walls for DUI on a controlled substance, petit larceny and no insurance on Dec. 11.

He was booked at the regional jail at 5:54 a.m.
