After the December 18 snowstorm left trees downed on several of the lights exihibits, many wondered if Christmas in the Park would survive.
Christmas in the Park is a 15-year tradition that was founded by Tom Rose Tomblin and was very popular with people not only in Logan County, but from Mingo, Lincoln, Boone and all across the coalfields. People even came to see the beautiful lights from other states and it is a very popular attraction during the week of Christmas when families are coming to Logan County to visit relatives for the holiday.
The Christmas in the Park workers aren’t going to let the damaged displays end the annual event.
So, people can start the celebration early: Christmas in the Park will be back next Christmas!
