Lady Billies fall at home to Westside

MAN – The Man High School girls’ basketball team fell to 5-4 on the season with Monday night’s 59-45 loss at home to 2A Westside at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.

The Lady Billies led the Renegades 12-11 after one quarter of play but Westside then outscored Man 17-9 in the second to take a 28-21 lead at the half.

Westside then poured in on in the third quarter by outscoring the Lady Billies 16-4 in the third quarter to take a commanding 44-25 lead after three. Man then outpointed Westside 20-15 in the fourth quarter but fell short.

Paige Stacy led Man with a 17-point effort. He was 5-of-6 from the free throw line.

Tabby Johnston also broke into double digits in scoring with 12 points.

Taylor Whited finished with six points, including a 4-of-4 performance from the foul line.

Lori Justice and Summer Sword tallied three each. Rebekah Vance and Kerri Castillo chipped in with two points apiece.

Tori Patrick led Westside with 19 points. Emily Strother had 11 and Cheyanna Lusk and McKinsey Davis had five points each.

Man was 13-of-19 from the free throw line. The Renegades were 9-of-12.

The Lady Billies are scheduled to return to action on Saturday at home against Tug Valley. Man then plays at Logan on Jan. 27.
