A Boone County gas station was robbed for the second time in two weeks last night at Danville along U.S. Route 119.

K&E Exxon Food Mart on Skeens Road at Danville between the Madison and State Route 3 exits off Corridor G was robbed at gunpoint around 8:50 last night.

The man reportedly entered the convenience store and demanded cash, a report said.

The unidentified man then escaped in a blue minivan headed toward Charleston.

No one was injured. Two clerks were working at the store at the time of the robbery. The gas station was open for business this morning.

It was not immediately known how much cash the robbery took.

Recently, the store was broken into and robbed while it was closed. A report to The Logan Banner said the robber or robbers broke the glass door, tore down the security system and cut phone lines. Cartons of cigarettes were stolen.

The store is owned by Reduce Inc., which is based in Wilkinson in Logan County.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Department was called in to investigate the robbery.
