Reportedly, three students did go to Williamson Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Nearly 70 students were reportedly on the bus when the wide-load tractor trailer hit the bus in the side.
A spokesperson at the Mingo County Board of Education on Friday said she didn’t know there was a bus wreck and a message was left for Mingo County Schools Transportation Director Joe Howard but he had not returned the call as of Tuesday morning.
Reportedly, the bus driver was traveling north on U.S. 52 at Lincoln City when the tractor trailer, which was traveling south, crossed the center line and hit the bus.
