The shorthanded Logan High School girls’ basketball team lost its eighth straight game and fell to 4-14 on the season with Thursday’s 58-32 loss to unbeaten Westside at Logan’s Willie Akers Arena.

Tori Patrick had 15 points to lead the visiting Renegades, which improved to 16-0 on the season. Cheyenna Lusk and Emily Fleshman added 12 and 11 points respectively for Westside.

Erica Kelley had nine points to lead Logan. Hannah Tothe had five, while Jasmine Workman and Jenna Kimler had four apiece. Katie Kirk and Faydra Martin had three each. Hannah Vinson and Kelsey Kirk tallied two each.

Westside led Logan 19-7 after one, 30-15 at the half and 49-22 after three.

For the second straight game, the Lady Cats played without starter Jessica Bias, who Logan coach Tim Cunningham said has been suspended.

“She got into some trouble. She’s suspended and she’s not in school,” Cunningham said. “We hope that she will be with us next week.”

Logan starter and 5-foot-9 center Katie Chryssofos also recently quit the team, Cunningham said.

Starter Briana Johnson was lost earlier in the season due to a knee injury.

Logan has two games left in the regular season, beginning with Monday’s home game with Tug Valley. The Lady Cats then close out Thursday at Lincoln County.

The Lady Cats haven’t won a game since Jan. 16 when they downed Williamson, 45-20, at Tug Valley.
