Jimmy Dale Austin, 32, of Madison, was arrested in Logan County by officers J.L. Sheppard and Aaron Newsome of the Logan Police Department for public intoxication, obstructing an officer and disorderly conduct on Feb. 21.
He was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at 12:25 a.m.
His younger brother, Jamie Lee Austin Jr., 31 of Dorothy, was arrested by officers Sheppard and Newsome for public intoxication, obstructing and disorderly conduct on Feb. 21.
He was also booked at the regional jail at 12:25 a.m.
According to law enforcement reports, at 11:33 p.m on Feb. 21, the officers responded to a call from The Front Room restaurant at Oaks Plaza in reference to a physical altercation involving several individuals.
"When arriving on scene, Patrolman A.E. Newsome observed Jamie Lee Austin and Jimmie Dale Austin Jr. causing a disturbance in the parking lot, the report states.
"They were advised several times to calm down and stop causing a disturbance,” the report said. “Both individuals failed to comply. Patrolman Newsome then handcuffed both males and placed them into the patrol vehicle.”
However, "both males became belligerent and combative towards each other," the report adds noting they were both pepper sprayed with cap-stun.
The report said that, while at city hall, Jimmy Austin advised the officers that his brother was involved in a physical altercation with an unknown male.
He allegedly also told police that he was attempting to calm his brother down when Patrolman Newsome arrived on scene.
“Both males appeared to be highly intoxicated,” the report said.

• Richard Douglas Smoot, 37, of Davin, was arrested in Man, by Patrolman Michael Vanatter Jr., of the Man Police Department, for driving on a revoked license on Feb. 15.
According to the police report, after the vehicle was pulled over by the officer, the accused allegedly tried to switch places with the passenger.
He was booked at the regional jail at 1:05 p.m.
• James David Robinson, 24, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County for domestic battery, assault and battery on Feb. 14. He was booked at the regional jail at 6:30 p.m.
• Lisa Dawn Witt, 43, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the home confinement officer on Feb. 12 for violation of her home confinement agreement on Feb. 12. She was booked at the regional jail at 2:40 p.m.
• Rebecca Renee Adams, 42, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by by the home confinement office for violation of his home confinement agreement on Feb. 8. She was booked at the regional jail at 3:55 p.m.
