A local man with a string of DUI arrests was arrested again recently for drug charges after he was observed allegedly driving erratically.

• Earl Riffe, 51, of Harts, was arrested in Logan County, by West Virginia State Police Trooper J.K. Harris for driving revoked, possession of a controlled substance, improper registration and driving left of center on Feb. 12 by West Virginia State Police Trooper J.K. Harris.

According to police reports an officer with another agency observed Riffe in a blue Chevy truck swerving in traffic on US 119 and crossing the center line. When the officer pulled alongside the vehicle he saw the driver allegedly "drinking an alcoholic beverage" and requested assistance for a traffic stop. When Trooper Harris arrived on scene, he "detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the breath and person of the accused."

Tpr. Harris conducted a series of field sobriety tests and patted Riffe down for officer safety, when he felt a hard object in Riffe's front left pocket.

"The object was removed and discovered to be an unmarked prescription medication bottle containing three different types of controlled prescription medications," the report states, including loratab, xanax and Valium. "A DMV records check revealed the license plate belonged on a 1994 Ford Ranger. Additionally DMV records indicated the accused had prior DUI convictions on 11/30/05, 8/3/2000, 12/4/99, 6/15/98, 12/29/97, 7/20/87, 4/11/87, 4/14/85 and 4/15/84."

He was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 6:20 p.m.

• Steven Michael Workman, 30, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of his drug court agreement on Feb. 23. He was booked at the regional jail at 4 p.m.

• William David Sparks, 25, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of his drug court agreement on Feb. 23. He was booked at the regional jail at 4 p.m.

• Melishia Lynn Reed, 37, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of her drug court agreement on Feb. 23. She was booked at the regional jail at 10 p.m.

• Joshua Ty Collins, 45, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of his drug court agreement on Feb. 16. He was booked at the regional jail at 5:20 p.m.

• Sara Elizabeth Hamlet, 34, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of her drug court agreement on Feb. 16. She was booked at the regional jail at 5:20 p.m.

• Brandon Scott Vincent, 24, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of his drug court agreement on Feb. 16. He was booked at the regional jail at 5 p.m.

• John Alfred Hendricks, 33, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the probation office for violation of his drug court agreement on Feb. 5. He was booked at the regional jail at 3 p.m.

• Amelia Marie Bradshaw, 28, residence not listed was arrested in Logan County by the Probation Office for violation of her drug court agreement on Feb. 2. She was booked at the regional jail at 4:05 p.m.

• James Taylor Bradshaw, 33, residence not listed, was arrested in Logan County by the Probation Office for violation of his drug court agreement on Feb. 2. He was booked at the regional jail at 4:10 p.m.
