EDMONTON, Ky. — Leonard Workman, 93, of Edmonton, Ky., passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital.

Born in Chapmanville, he was a son of the late Charley and Florence Fleming Workman. Also preceding him in death was a daughter, Geraldine Hood; sisters, Louise Dingess, Loucille Adams and Bess McCloud, and brother, Jesse Workman.

Leonard worked as a body mechanic, having worked at Minton Chevrolet and Brumfield Motors in Logan. He also worked as a coal miner for 10 years. Mr. Workman was an avid coon hunter, winning many awards and trophies. He also loved basketball and NASCAR.

Survivors include his wife, Jemima Kinslow Workman; one daughter, Conetta (Bob) Casey of Columbus, Ind.; one son: Lonnie (Carol) Workman of Whitestown, Ind.; one brother: John Workman of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Tim Workman, Scott Workman, Kim Hixon, Debra Casey Miller, Drema Casey Wright and Denise Casey Lindley, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6, at the McMurtrey Funeral Home in Summer Shade, Ky., with Brother Arnold Adams and Brother Marty Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Glasgow Municipal Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
