Local police were kept busy this week with minor accidents apparently caused by driver error.

On Friday morning, a small red Mercedes was reportedly passing a red dump truck from Gas Field Services out of Garfield, Va., when the two vehicles collided with each other near Rum Junction.

"Apparently, the woman went to pass the dump truck and he came over a little and they clipped each other," Deputy B.E. Ferrell said.

The car suffered some body damage, Ferrell said.

Emergency crews were on the scene to provide first aid and a wrecker truck was called to the scene.

Both vehicles were drivable, however, and were parked by the side of the road. One first responder said that unlike many accidents in that area this one did not cause a traffic jam.

On Tuesday, around 11 a.m., Logan City Patrolman J.R. Adkins and members of the City of Logan Fire Department had their hands full around 11 a.m. on Tuesday when a minor fender bender caused a traffic clog in front of the Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers restaurant in downtown Logan.

A black SUV and a black Pontiac Grand Am had a minor bumper tap which apparently did little damage to either vehicle.
