LOGAN, W.Va. — Goldie L. Bell, 77, of Logan, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010, at Logan Regional Medical Center

Born March 24, 1932, in Hatfield, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Adrian and Dixie Smith Varney. Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Herman Collins; second husband, Floyd James Bell; two brothers, Elmo and Estil Varney, and two sisters, Elsie Hackney and Ruby Collins.

Goldie was a homemaker and a member of the Micco Jesus Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Sharon K. Thompson of Logan; stepson, Larry James Bell of Pontiac, Mich.; Judy Ann Bell of Lynchburg, Va.; sisters, Lillie Collins of Logan, Ernie Mae Diamond of Ransom, Ky., and Kozetta Hensley of Jackson, Ohio; two grandsons, Herman Ray Thompson and Jimmy Gray Thompson; two great-grandsons, Christopher Blake Thompson and Jordan Alexander Thompson, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday; March 12, at the Micco Jesus Church with Pastor Jimmy Fletcher officiating. Interment will be at the Collins Cemetery at Dan’s Branch at Borderland.

Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel in Toler, Ky., and after 5 p.m. Thursday at the church. Special services will be held both nights at 7 p.m.
