VERDUNVILLE, W.Va. — Sadie Frances Bryant, 84 of Verdunville, passed away at her residence surrounded by her family Wednesday, March 10, 2010.

Born April 5, 1925, in Logan, she was a daughter of the late Riley and Margaret Townsend Crum. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Leslie D. Bryant; one daughter, Loretta “Lat” Adkins; two brothers, Ernest and Ed Crum, and two sisters, Dorothy Cadd and Glenna Kennedy.

Sadie worked along side her husband for years at Leslie’s Market and was a member of the Maryetta United Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memories include, four daughters Gail (Everett) McGrath of Florida, Janet Issaacs and Brenda (Jackie) Frye, both of Verdunville, and Linda (Jerry) Vance of Morgantown; three sons, Leslie E. Bryant, Larry (Teresa) Bryant and David (Shelia) Bryant, all of Verdunville; 20 grandchildren, Lat (Mary) Adkins Jr. of Arizona, Kevin (Dovetta) Adkins and Matthew (Monica) Adkins, both of Catlettsburg, Ky., Jimmy Hughes, Debbie (Rob) Cain and Curtis (Amy) Hughes Jr., all of Ohio, Terri (Kenny) Canterbury of Godby Heights, Simon (Christa) Isaacs, Jerry (Rosetta) Vance, Tylah Bryant and Caroline Bryant, all of Verdunville, Jimmy Bryant, Jeff (Kristie) Vance, Jennifer Vance, Tiffany (Anthony) Browning, and Kim (Scott) Cagle, all of North Carolina, Misha (Brian) Dent and Krista (A.D.) Hale, both of Teays Valley, Heather (Ben) Collins of Holden, and Ryan (Chrissie) Bryant of Charleston; 21 great-grandchildren, Marianna Adkins of Arizona, Jacob, Jared and Jeanna Adkins of Catlettsburg, Anna and Abigail Hughes and Anthony and Elizabeth Cain, all of Ohio, Kenny Canterbury Jr. of Godby Heights, Caitlyn and Autumn Isaacs of Verdunville, McKenna and Carson Cagle of North Carolina, Avery Hale of Teays Valley, Jeremy, Jerry III “Trey” and Tori, Madison Bryant, William Hughes and two more on the way.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 12, at the Honaker Funeral Home in Logan with Pastor Michael Hartwell officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m Thursday at the funeral home.
