Bad weather didn't discourage the people of Logan County for coming out in droves for Pancake Day recently at the Logan Middle School.

"We were all surprised at the people who showed up in that kind of weather," noted longtime Kiwanian Don Elkins.

Roger Ramey said this year's Pancake Day turned out far better than expected, noting that at times, so many people were at tables enjoying fresh pancakes and sausages that members were concerned about a shortage of trays.

"Good thing for us, we had more take out orders than ever before," Ramey noted.

Diana Barnett said that the club was lucky to have so many members who showed up and volunteered to work - as well as active members of the Key Club who also were out in force lending a hand.

Many Kiwanians brought family members who also volunteered to help with the event, from doing dishes to washing tables.
