Congratulations to the Logan Wildcats and the Tug Valley Panthers for getting big, first-round wins in the state boys basketball tournament! And we’re so proud of the mighty Gilbert Lions for making it to the state and making the coalfields proud!

Both Logan and Tug valley defeated very good opponents and have moved into the next round of the competition. The Lions didn’t win their first-round game, but they kept close with the No. 1 team in Class A and the final score isn’t indicative of how hard the Gilbert team played.

It would be an awesome feat if both Logan and Tug Valley brought home state championships in their respective classes and we know they have the talent and heart to get the job done!

We hope all the Logan High and Tug Valley basketball fans turn out to support the teams in their quest for the state’s top basketball prizes — the Class AAA and Class AA crowns. They need everyone cheering them on!

Both Logan and Tug Valley are one step closer to winning it all.

Keep up the good work and, hopefully, bring home the state gold in both Class AA and Class AAA!
