Born May 12, 1935, at Ethel, she was a daughter of the late William and Gladys Adkins. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Homer Miller, and one brother, William Adkins Jr.
Grethel was a former employee of Logan General Hospital for two and one-half years and an employee of Wilson Cleaners for 12 years, a member of the Lake Holiness Church, attended many other churches, studied at Mill Creek with Frank and Kay Preece and friends, of the Pentecostal faith, enjoyed singing in church and listening to Gospel music, and enjoyed her family life and shopping. Grethel was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters, Mary (Wesley) Craddock and Loella (Billy) Miller, both of Lake; one brother, Lowell (Linda) Adkins of Lake, and eleven nieces and nephews, Karen Casto, Daren Craddock, Greta Evans, Chris Miller, Lori Osborne, Gerald Adkins, Jamie Adkins, Tony Adkins, Maria West, Julie Adkins and Jason Adkins.

A celebration of Grethel’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the Freeman Funeral Home with Frank Preece officiating. She will be laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Gerald, Chris, Jamie, Tony, Jason and Lowell.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday at the funeral home.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville has been entrusted with the arrangements.
