Allison Evans pitched a complete-game win for Chapmanville, which improved to 7-6 on the season. Evans, a sophomore righty, gave up three runs and four hits while striking out 12 and walking four.
Jenna Evans, Lauren Shumate and Heather Nagy all doubled for the Lady Tigers.
Brandi Broom, Bre Thomas, Haley McCann and Alyssa Bailey all singled.
Chapmanville was coming off last week’s 3-2 showing at the Best of the Best Tournament at Buffalo. The Lady Tigers lost 5-1 in the 2A division title game to Herbert Hoover after knocking off No. 1-ranked Sissonville 6-1 in the semifinals.
CRHS is scheduled to have a makeup game tonight at Sherman. The Lady Tigers then host Poca on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Cardinal Conference matchup.
After taking on the Dots, Chapmanville is scheduled to play in the Cabell Midland Sluggerfest on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Tigers then host Scott on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the rematch of last night’s game. It’s the first contest of a doubleheader as CRHS then hosts Sherman at 7 p.m.
