Preceding him in death was his father and mother, Wayne and Helen Moore, and his birth mother, Rose Hannah.
Howard was a former employee of GMAC and retired in 1985. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He faithfully attended the West Logan Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ruby Adkins Moore; one son, Rev. Glen (Marie) Howard Moore of Harbor City, Calif.; one daughter, Tammy Rae (Brad) Browning of Irmo, S.C.; three grandchildren, Amy Burchett of Columbia, S.C., Adam Browning of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Amber Browning of Shepherdstown, and a special nephew, Matthew Adkins. Howard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, with a celebration of Howard’s life at 3 p.m. at the West Logan Missionary Baptist Church with his son, Rev. Glen Moore, and Rev. Robert Morris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to West Logan Missionary Baptist Church or Logan Church of the Nazarene.
