Logan finished off pool play with a 3-0 record at this weekend’s Cabell Midland Sluggerfest and was looking to claim another crown on Saturday night.
The Lady Cats routed Morgantown (12-1) and got past Scott (5-2) on Friday before recording a forfeit victory over East Fairmont on Saturday morning due to the team dropping out of the tournament.
Logan now stands at 17-1 on the season and upped its winning streak to 12 games.
Morgan Aguirre was the starting and winning pitcher for the Lady Cats in the Morgantown game. She struck out 10 over six innings and allowed just three hits.
Aguirre also carried a big stick as she was 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI.
Lara Sedlock was a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Taylor Norman was 3-for-4 with a double and three runs knocked in.
Jessia Bias went 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI.
Katie Chryssofos singled and drove in two.
Emily Vinson singled and had one RBI, while Antonia Hill also singled.
In the win over Scott, Bias hit two home runs and had three RBI to lead Logan past the Lady Hawks.
Scott led 2-0 after one-half inning before Bias slammed a solo homer in the bottom of the first to cut the margin in half.
Then in the third, Bias ripped a two-run homer to put Logan on top 3-2.
Ali Neace pitched the win as she allowed only three hits and fanned eight.
Hill doubled for the Lady Cats.
Chryssofos had a hit and an RBI.
Sedlock also singled.
Logan is scheduled to play at South Charleston on Monday, go to Capital on Tuesday and host county rival Chapmanville on Wednesday.
Chapmanville was also at the Sluggerfest as the Lady Tigers were slated to play Spring Valley and University on Friday. However, no scores or statistics were reported to the Logan Banner as of presstime on Saturday afternoon.
