The beat went on for the Logan High School softball team on Thursday night as the homestanding Lady Cats pounded on Parkersburg, 8-1, at the Logan Softball Complex.

Logan improved to 21-3 on the season with the win.

Lady Cats’ hurler Sommer Neace pitched a complete game win for Logan as she fired all seven innings and allowed just three hits while striking out nine batters.

Logan is scheduled to return to action with Friday’s 5:30 p.m. Senior Night contest against Class AAA regional foe Nicholas County. LHS will honor its only senior player – pitching ace Ali Neace.

The Lady Cats then host Lincoln County next Monday in the regular season finale.

Logan follows that up by hosting the Class AAA sectional tournament next Wednesday and Thursday. The Lady Cats are slated to square off against South Charleston and George Washington. LHS is 1-0 each against SC and GW. Logan beat the Black Eagles 6-1 on April 14 at home and crushed the Patriots 12-2 the next day at George Washington.
