No. 1-ranked and two-time defending Class A state champion Man (21-5) plays at Williamson today at 5 p.m., while Class AAA No. 4 Logan (25-3) goes to Capital and Class AA No. 7 Chapmanville (20-12) plays at No. 5 Wayne (19-3).
Man had an easy time in its Class A sectional, first scoring a forfeit victory over Gilbert and then swept Van (10-0 and 25-0) to take the crown.
The Lady Billies, led by senior all-state pitcher and West Virginia State University signee Marlena Frye, have won six straight games. The last defeat was a 4-0 setback at home to Logan on April 28.
Man is a huge favorite to beat Williamson, which comes into the contest with a 13-5 record. The Lady Wolves downed Burch (16-1) and Matewan (13-5) to win their sectional tourney.
A win by the Lady Billies would put Man in the May 20 Region 4 championship game at either No. 9 Buffalo or No. 6 Charleston Catholic.
Man beat the Lady Irish this season 4-0 at home but did not face the Lady Bison.
Logan, which advanced to the state tourney last season but ended up going 1-2, is also hoping to make it back to Vienna.
The Lady Cats, led by all-state pitcher Ali Neace, will be heavy favorites to win the Region 3 regional semifinals over Capital, a team which started the season with a 1-9 record.
Logan beat George Washington (10-0), South Charleston (2-0) and South Charleston (2-1) again to claim the 3A sectional title last week at home.
The Lady Cats had no trouble with Capital this season as Logan blanked the Lady Cougars twice by scores of 10-0 and 13-0.
Capital beat Riverside, 5-3, to win its sectional title.
Capital downed Riverside, 7-5, in the sectional opener but lost 9-3 in Game 2 as the Warriors forced a decisive Game 3.
A victory by Logan over Capital would put the Lady Cats into the May 20 Region 3 championship game at either Nicholas County or Greenbrier East.
Logan downed Nicholas County three times this season by 12-1, 7-1 and 10-0 scores.
LHS did not face the Greenbrier East Spartans.
In tonight's Class AA Region 4 semifinal, Chapmanville takes on a team it lost to twice this year by scores of 6-5 and 5-4.
The Lady Tigers, last year's Double-A state champs, swept Scott 7-3 and 6-5 in 10 innings last week at home to win the sectional championship.
Wayne had an easy time again in its weak sectional with a 22-0 victory over Tug Valley and wins of 10-0 and 15-1 over Tolsia.
The winner of the game between the Lady Tigers and the Lady Pioneers is scheduled to move on to the May 20 Region 4 championship game at either No. 2 Herbert Hoover or unranked Poca.
Chapmanville went 1-2 this season against Herbert Hoover, losing 3-2 and 5-1 and winning 5-1 at home on April 27.
The top four teams in each class are scheduled to play in the state tournament, which is set for May 26-27 at Jackson Memorial Park in Vienna.
Logan and Chapmanville have each won four state championships in its history. Man has three titles.
