A gas analyst talking in a news radio interview said gasoline prices are expected to drop as far as 40 cents on the gallon over the summer. Lately, the price of a gallon of gas has dropped to $2.89 at Alum Creek in Lincoln County and to $2.83 at Cross Lanes in Kanawha County. In Pikeville, Ky., the price of gas has been falling for at least two weeks, while staying high here at $2.95 for a gallon of regular unleaded.
It’s time for the gas prices to come down. When it’s announced that gas prices are going up, stations are very quick to hike their prices, too. But, when the cost of barrels of oil goes down, stations are very slow in decreasing their prices.
But, it’s been at least two weeks and we still haven’t seen a decrease in the price of gasoline here in Logan, Boone and Mingo counties.
And we continue to feel the pain at the pumps...
