The congregation of the Whitman Church of God will honor their pastor, Bishop C. Wayne Damron, and his wife Debbie, on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 10: 30 a.m. with a special worship service and dinner to follow. Damron has been pastor of the Whitman Church of God since Easter Sunday 2004. He began his ministry at the West Logan Church of God under T. F. Burchett where he attended 12 years. He pastored the Barnabus Church of God from 1999-2004. He became an ordained Bishop in Sept. 2004. The Damron's are the parents of two children, Beth Damron, who is a dedicated Sunday School teacher, and Chris Damron, who is following his fathers footsteps and is also in the ministry. Guest speaker for the event will be Bill Phillips and special singing will be provided by his wife, Sherry Phillips. The public is invited to attend.
