CHAPMANVILLE – Patton Couch recently won in the Championship Flight of the third-annual Logan Country Club Open, held at the LCC in Chapmanville.

Couch, a former Logan High School golfer, beat out Jim Grimmett and Garrett Humphries, who tied for second place in the Championship Flight.

Tad Tomblin was fourth place in the event’s top division.

In the First Flight, Tom Kirk was the winner with Tyler Browning taking second and Keith Morgan, T.J. Fleenor and Brian Beddow tying for third.

In the Second Flight, Dave Gresham was the winner with Rick Grimmett second, Mike Bledsow third and Dave Mayo fourth.

Buzz Greene won in the Third Flight with Jerry Dotson and John Evans tying for second.

In the Fourth Flight, Pat Braddon took top honors.

Randy Browning was second, Paul Hardesty third and Jacob Workman fourth.

Mike Veres and Tomblin were past winners in the Championship Flight.

“This event helps the junior golf program for Logan County held each summer at the Logan Country Club,” LCC pro Ken Lacy said. “This is the only free junior golf program in the state. Our corporate sponsors are the Logan County Commission, LEASA, Town ‘N Country, Reno’s, Hacienda, Brynsides, EMIS, Ken Lacy Golf Profession and Jim and Rick Grimmett.
