The Logan 14-and-under AAU basketball team recently finished in first place at the Lady Hawk Classic in Morgantown.

The team went undefeated in the tourney and currently sports a 28-10 record with four tourney titles to their credit.

Next on the schedule is the National Tournament in Cincinnati, June 17-20.

The tournament will take place over four days and draw teams from all over the United States.

“The nationals are going to be a great challenge for our girls to display their talents among some of the top players in the country,” Logan AAU coach Mike Tothe said. “We have been playing some good basketball and are looking forward to the trip. What I like about these girls are the fact that they are unselfish and all play a role in helping us achieve our goals.”

Members of the team include: Katie and Kelsey Kirk; Jenna Kimler; Aly Browning; Jess Lester; Briana Smith; Morgan Spolarich; Shayna Gore; and Hannah Tothe.

“Katie, Kelsey and Jenna were dominant on the boards and defensively in the post during the Morgantown tourney and we are going to need those same efforts come Nationals,” Coach Tothe said. “Hannah, Shayna, Morgan and Aly all shoot the basketball very well and when we get our inside presence going we are fun to watch. Briana Smith and Morgan Spolarich do most of the ball-handling and Jess Lester is our defensive leader. I feel I can put Jess on someone and she can lock them down.”
