Logan High School’s Ali Neace, Man’s Tabby Johnston and Marlena Frye and Chapmanville Regional’s Bre Thomas and Lauren Shumate have been named to play in the tripleheader.
Frye was the captain of the Class A all-state team and led the Lady Billies to state championships in 2008 and 2009 and a runner-up finish to South Harrison this year.
Also set to play are St. Albans’ Samantha Snodgrass and Ritchie County’s Brittany Spencer. Snodgrass (3A) and Spencer (2A) were also voted as captains of their respective all-state teams.
Lincoln County’s Shayla Owens and Morgan Scarpellini have also been picked to play for the South.
The South will be coached by D.A. Harless. The assistant coaches are Staci Kinder and Rodney Miller of Scott.
St. Albans’ Brooke Davis, Buffalo’s Hannah Lloyd, Sissonville’s Olivia Bodnar and Chelsea Hanshaw and Hurricane’s Pookie Dimsdale are also set to play for the South, along with Sherman’s Madison Bowman and Scott’s Ciera Bias, Abby Boise and Katie Tadlock.
The North is coached by Magnolia’s Mark Batton.
There will be three five-inning games beginning at 1, 3 and 5 p.m.
Pregame competition begins at 10:30 a.m. It features a home run derby, fastest arm (overhand and underhand), 20- and 60-yard sprints, throwing accuracy and bunting.
