Vance, a standout at Logan in the mid 80s, begins his rebuilding project with only one returning senior along with 11 other lettermen. Coach Vance is the only returning coach from last season and is very aware of the tough job ahead of him. He assures TVHS fans that his teams will be discipline and fun to watch.
The new head coach knows something about discipline as he is the Chief Corrections Officer at the county regional jail.
Look for the Panthers to run everything from a Wing-T to some I-formations with Assistant Coach Tyler Hodge coaching the offense.
“I’ve never seen the kids this excited,” Vance said. “Fans will see a whole different team.”
Vance said he will be mixing up the defense running 5-2 monster with an occasional change to a 4-3.
His biggest game comes on Sept. 13 when TVHS travels to Tolsia.
The Panthers open up the season at Sherman on Aug. 27 with their first home game coming on Sept. 3 against Van.
