CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. James R. “Chuck” Workman, 82, of Chapmanville, was born June 27, 1928, at Big Creek, a son of the late Erin and Eunice Dial Workman. He departed this life Sunday, July 4, 2010, at his residence.

Also preceding him in death was his son, Roger Workman.

Mr. Workman was a retired coal miner, a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II, and a member of the Henlawson Community Church.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Jean Griffin Workman; one daughter, Kay Mounts of Lenore; one son, Randy (Brenda) Workman of Chapmanville; one sister, Avonelle (Jack) Spencer of Princeton; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Roscoe Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby with Military Graveside Rites.

Visitation will begin after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
