On Sunday, August 1, the Reds will be honoring fans from the Logan area as the team will be holding its first ever Logan Community Day at The Great American Ballpark as Cincinnati battles the Atlanta Braves.
More than 400 tickets have reportedly been sold from the Logan area for the game.
Tickets are being sold for half price for the game. An infield box seat, normally running $42 is being offered for $21.View Level seats at $14 are just $7 for Logan fans.
Tickets can be purchased online at: www.cincinnati.reds.mlb.com.
Several Reds players made a stop in Logan back in January during the Reds Winter Caravan. Reds’ manager Dusty Baker, former Reds player Eric Davis, current Cincinnati players and Reds’ broadcasters and staff made the stop at the Chief Logan State Park Convention Center.
The Reds have enjoyed a good 2010 season thus far under Baker as Cincinnati sits atop the National League Central standings at the All-Star Break. The Reds are 49-41 — one game ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals.
Joey Votto currently leads the Reds at the plate. He went into the Midsummer Classic batting .314 with 22 homers and 60 RBIs, a threat in all three Triple Crown categories. He’s also among the leaders in slugging percentage at .589. Votto’s performance was acknowledged with 13.7 million votes in claiming the NL Final Vote balloting by fans. Consistency also defines Votto, who reached base in a Major League season-high 41 straight games before the streak ended on July 4.
Three-fourths of the Cincinnati infield – Votto, Scott Rolen and Brandon Phillips – fortified the National League’s roster for Tuesday’s All-Star Game at Angel Stadium.
Relief pitcher Arthur Rhodes was also an All-Star.
Rolen, 35, is an All-Star for the sixth time. For Votto and Phillips, this was their maiden voyage along with Rhodes, one of the game’s best stories this season with his superlative work out of Baker’s bullpen. Rolen was back at the Midsummer Classic for the first time since 2006.
