Logan native, Samuel Corns, 14, of Midleburg finished 19th in a field of 54 golfers in the 13-14-year-old division of the Top Flite Jr. Golf Tour in West Virginia.

Corns’ best round of the year came in the West Virginia Jr. Amateur Championship held at Guyan Country Club in Barboursville earlier this month where he shot a 79 and finished fifth in the two-day event.

Other junior golfers from the region who participated in the 2010 Top Flite Tour are: J.C. Motes of Logan; and Forest Roberts, Jacob Workman and Zach Gresham of Chapmanville.

Gresham had a stellar year finishing fifth in the 17-18-year-old division.

All of the golfers are members at Logan Country Club and work under the coaching of LCC Golf Pro Ken Lacy.
