The Cincinnati Reds’ “Logan West Virginia Day” promotion has been a big success.

WVOW’s Speedy Bevins said the first-ever event – the Reds’ Aug. 1 game at The Great American Ballpark against the Atlanta Braves – has been sold out.

The promotion allowed local fans to go on the Reds’ website and order half-price tickets.

Around 500 were sold from the Logan area.

“There’s only a handful of tickets left,” Bevins said. “The Reds were very happy with the website and very happy with the response. Of course, we heavily advertised it on the radio and it was in the Banner. The Reds are already planning on doing another similar promotion next year. For a first-year promotion, they were very pleased.”

The Reds Winter Caravan made a stop in Logan County back in January at the Chief Logan State Park Convention Center.

On hand were Reds’ announcers, staff and players, manager Dusty Baker and former Cincinnati great Eric Davis.

How ironic that the Cincinnati Reds sponsor a Logan, West Virginia day for city that broadcasts the Atlanta Braves on their local radio station.
