The Kiwanis Club of Logan is sponsoring a toy drive to benefit the Logan Child Advocacy Center.

Kiwanis President Diana Barnett has asked members of her club to bring toys suitable for kids between three and sixteen to the regular Kiwanis meetings on Thursdays.

Barnett said the CAC needs the items for kids who are in the waiting area while their siblings are undergoing forensic interviews. The CAC handles investigations for juvenile abuse and neglect victims for the Logan County court system.

Among items requested are:

• a 19 inch television set, DVD player and children's videos

• handheld video games (Playstation or equivalent games for all ages)

•coloring books and crayons, markers and drawing pads and pencils

•books for kids of all ages.

•board games such as Candyland, Memory Game, Connect Four etc…

•card games

•Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head

•dolls and action figures

•Legos and building blocks

•puzzles.

•drawing pads

•storage containers.

The CAC also needs a compact college dorm room size refrigerator.

"We will have a box here to collect donations," Barnett said at the August 12 meeting.

The Kiwanis Club of Logan meets at Gatti's Restaurant next to the FountainPlace Cinema 8 at the mall. On the first and last Thursdays of the month the club meets at 5:30 p.m. On the middle Thursdays the club meets at noon.
