This past June, eight local students applied and were accepted as volunteers to act as counselors for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Each counselor participated in a week long, overnight camping program in Cedar Lakes, WV. Young MDA campers were from the ages of six to seventeen and each were afflicted in some way with a neuromuscular disease. The volunteer counselors spent the week caring for and assisting these young campers in participating in various functions. MDA feels that the volunteer counselors are the backbone of this worthwhile camping program. The volunteer counselors represented students from Logan High School.
