W.Va. Senator and Lt. Governor Earl Ray Tomblin, DNR Director Frank Jezioro and DNR Commissioner Ken Wilson unveiled the sign dedicating the new Chief Logan shooting and archery ranges on Wedneday, September 8. The new shooting and archery range complex is located on the Chief Logan WMA in Logan County. Access to the WMA is off of U.S. Route 119 between Logan and Chapmanville and at the same exit used for the Chief Logan State Park Lodge.
The total cost for the construction of the shooting range complex was approximately $70,000, and the range was constructed with assistance from local and state businesses and organizations.
The archery complex will be located off the access road leading to the shooting range. The 3-D archery range will have 30 targets located along a trail through the woods and provide bow hunters with archery practice that simulates actual hunting situations. The range will be operated and maintained by the Coalfield Archery Club, and the facility will be open to the public. Both facilities are now open to the public.
Looks like a Rock Crusher.
If you plan to shoot at the 100 yard target, bring your nitro, its uphill.
The archery range looks good, plenty of targets.
As for the $70,000.00 to put it in, the taxpayers got a close hair cut.
I don't know who put the project in, but it looks like a Grimmett job.
