Early detection can increase breast cancer survival rates up to 98 percent, according to an article in Logan Regional Medical Center’s October “HealthPoint” community newsletter. The hospital said that the overall risk for a woman developing breast cancer is one in eight. However, early detection is critical in the fight against breast cancer. When diagnosed at a localized stage, the five-year survival rate for breast cancer is 98 percent.

In addition to the breast cancer discussion, there is timely information about pain management, as well as information on common ailments treated by physical therapy.
