MAN — Mrs. Whitney Preston and Mrs. Katharine Ellis’ Universal Pre-K classes of South Man Elementary celebrated Thanksgiving by making Native American headbands, disguising Tom the Turkey, and listening to Thanksgiving stories.

The students were asked several questions regarding… How to cook a turkey. “Who makes your Thanksgiving turkey?” “Where does he/she get it?” “How much does it cost?’ and “How does he/she fix the turkey?”

“We hope you enjoy them as much as we did,” said Preston.

The following were their replies…

Mrs. Whitney Preston and

Mrs. Sandra’s Pre-K Class

Caleb A — Mommy gets the turkey from the store. It’s 40 pounds. She cooks and bakes it and gives it to me. She cooks it for 40 hours. She puts pepper sauce on it, that’s all. Her give it to me. Sausage and gravy is all that I eat. I eat the turkey too.

Madeline — My Daddy makes my Thanksgiving turkey. Daddy buys it at the store, it cost one hundred dollars. He puts syrup on it and cooks it on the stove for 20 minutes. Then he puts it in the bowl and we eat it.

Loren — I think my Mommy makes my turkey. I think she gets it at PicPac. I don’t know how much it cost, it probably cost two dollars. She puts carrots and potatoes in it and then she puts it in the oven. It cooks for thirty minutes. I think after that she gets it out and we eat it. I don’t like turkey. I like to eat mashed potatoes. My Mommy and Daddy eat turkey. After we eat dinner we play.

Kyleigh — My Mommy makes the turkey; she doesn’t need help, she knows what she’s doing. Mommy gets the turkey at Wal-Mart and Dollar Store, it cost 2 dollars. She takes it home and cooks it. She cooks it on the stove. She puts cheese on it; it’s good with cheese on it. I like lettuce and mayonnaise on it too.

Caleb H — Mommy can’t make turkey. I buy a big turkey at PicPac, my Daddy too. PicPac makes my Thanksgiving turkey. They put salt and pepper on the turkey. They put it in a big thing and it cooks. It cooks for 10 hours. I like to eat green beans, macaroni and cheese, and mashed potatoes.

Peyton — Mommy and Daddy cooks my turkey. Daddy goes out and kills turkeys. Sometimes he kills turkeys and bears. After he kills it, you just go cook it. You can put it in your bedroom, but that would be too scary. It has to cook a lot. I don’t think Mommy likes to cook turkey. Mommy likes to cook food that me and brother like when we’re hungry. I just don’t like to eat turkey, it’s not my favorite. I like chicken noodle soup without meatballs, chicken and french fries and ketchup, roll-ups, and I think that’s all me and brother likes. We don’t like to eat turkeys.

My big sister, Holly, she choked on it; she choked on the skin of the turkey. My Granny had to do the Heimlich.

Ryleigh — Mommy buys a turkey at Walmart. She pays for it and brings it home. When she gets home she puts it in the refrigerator. She cooks it in the oven for four minutes. She gets it out and lets it cool down for a little and then we eat it. I like to eat peanut butter sandwiches with my turkey. That’s all.

These were good! I read each one. I guess Mamaw is really busy this Thanksgiving cooking those turkeys for one minute and frying up those french fries for the kids who don't like turkey.

This was cute, thanks!
