Berwick (Pa.) probably wishes it never even made the trip to Logan.

The Keystone State team, coached by former Scott High School mentor Jason Kingery, was blasted 70-19 by the Wildcats in Friday night’s game at Logan High School’s Willie Akers Arena.

Logan evened its record to 1-1 on the season after Tuesday night’s 67-60 season opening loss at home to Class AAA Hurricane.

Zak Miller led Logan with 19 points, equaling Berwick’s team total. He nailed five shots from 3-point territory.

Brynden “Worm” Street tallied 10 points — all in the first half — for the Wildcats.

Logan led Berwick 23-8 after the first quarter and held the Bulldogs scoreless until the 4:05 mark of the third quarter.

The Wildcats blanked Berwick 19-0 in the second quarter and took an overwhelming 42-8 halftime lead. Berwick would score just 11 more points the rest of the way.

Berwick is located in northeast Pennsylvania, reportedly a nine-hour trip to Logan. The team was scheduled to take part in Scott’s Coalfield Shootout on Saturday at the Madison Civic Center.

Logan is scheduled to return to action next Thursday at home against Class AAA sectional foe Huntington. Logan beat Huntington in last year’s sectional final. The Wildcats then play Magnolia on Dec. 21 and St. Albans on Dec. 22 at the George Washington High School Holiday Tournament.

The next Cats’ game after that is Dec. 28 at home against George Washington.
