Common ground found

Some extra land was discovered Feb. 12 within the 3.79 million square miles of the United States. It was the common ground found during President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address.

The president proposed raising the federal minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $9 an hour by 2016 and linking future increases to inflation.

Obama argued this could benefit employers.

“For businesses across the country, it would mean customers with more money in their pockets,” he said during the speech.

His logic is this: Business owners would get a boost from the economic impact that would result from putting more money into the hands of more Americans.

This is the exact argument conservatives are making in regard to lowering tax rates. This is the common ground.

There’s another aspect to the president’s stance.

“Corporate profits have skyrocketed to an all-time high,” Obama said. “But it’s also true that for more than a decade, wages and incomes haven’t gone up at all.” …

So, we can agree that getting more money in the pockets of Americans would be good for the economy, not to mention the citizens. But how should that be accomplished? Get employers to raise wages? Or reduce tax rates? …

Food stamps have gone up 49% under his presidency. Unemployment remains high as well as fuel prices. Why not allow the Keystone pipeline which will create good jobs; not ones that pay 9 dollars per hour. The lower fuel cost will equate to businesses paying less for energy...thus more money to hire people and expand. Obama has done nothing but kill good jobs, and the left is too stinking stupid to know it. Also...why not take on the Chinese for currency manipulation...oh...I forgot, Obama is ignorant in those matters. We hired a community organizer and we are getting what we voted for. Oh yeah...a shout out goes to the African American woman in Hamilton County Ohio who voted up to six times to put Obama back in!

Pepper, unemployment has been high under both parties, so have the gas prices, which is not the President's fault. If you are an example of the repubs, you are doing them a disservice, by making ignorant comments. Stop the misinformation about your and my President!

After reading some of your opinions, I have come

to the following conclusion---I'll type slow so you can keep up.

1. You know nothing about everything and 2. You are a Racist.

In your opinion, President Obama is to blame for all of the country's problems but you seem to forget the Bush years. The Bush years of lies and deceit. How he took a surplus and turned it into a deficit, how he told the American people that Iraq would pay the cost of the war, how all of our brave men and women in our armed forces have died to eliminate weapons of mass destruction that did not exist.

You state that Affirmative Action is not needed. Affirmative Action, a policy that was implemented to correct the past effects of discrimination of women and minorities in areas of employment, education and business from which they have been historically excluded. You say everyone should play from a level--the field was level the in the '20s and '30s ---it was called

Jim Crow, the field was level in the '40s, '50s and the '60s it was called ----Segregation

You state that the number of people receiving assistance have increased ---the effects of the Bush years and the current do nothing Republican led Congress, that would rather see the American people suffer than to work with a president who happens to be a person of color .

You mention the African American woman who allegedly voted six times, what about the Caucasian woman from Nevada who was arrested for voting twice ---either way its voter fraud. Lets not forget vote buying in Logan County----a half pint of liquor and five dollars ---remember the Logan County Five.

In conclusion, you have a PHD in your name,I do hope that means you can tell the difference between Coke and Dr. Pepper and not a Doctor of

Philosophy . If you are an educator in the county school system heaven help those children. FYI--for your information--- there is a Klan Rally in

Memphis,Tn next month --you should go, don't forget your SHEET.

Peace
