CHARLESTON, W.Va.– Southern West Virginia delegates have introduced legislation to create a Hatfield McCoy license plate to commemorate the Hatfield and McCoy story. This license plate will let West Virginians show their love for their state and its history.

The special license plate will be available to anyone in the state for a annual fee. The plate would join the many other special license plates currently available, including those commemorating veterans, teachers, state universities, and many others.

Delegate Justin Marcum (D-Mingo, Logan) is the lead sponsor of the bill. Delegates Rupert Phillips Jr. (D-Logan), Joshua Nelson (R-Boone), Harry Keith White (D-Mingo), Jeff Eldridge (D-Lincoln), Doug Reynolds (D-Cabell), Ted Tomblin (D-Logan), Anthony Barill (D-Monongalia), Linda Goode Phillips (D-Wyoming), Joe Ellington (R-Mercer), and Eric Nelson (R-Kanawha) are the co-sponsors.
