RANGER, W.Va. — Donald Walden Wiley, 69, of Ranger, departed this life Monday, April 23, 2012, at St. Mary’s Medical Center at Huntington.

Born July 2, 1942, in Gill, he was a son of the late Willie and Ruby Zell Wiley. Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Paris and Mary Ann Vance and John and Lizzie Nelson Wiley; four brothers, Paris Smith, and Stan, Marvin and Michael Wiley; one sister, Bethel June Wiley, and his father and mother-in-law, Artie “Bud” and Aileen Pack.

Don enjoyed going to church, spending time with his family, volunteering with the VFW, American Legion and DAV. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post 6153 and the DAV post 39.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Rosa Mae Pack Wiley; one daughter Cristie (Danny) Trent of Proctorville, Ohio; one son, Gregory Shawn Wiley of Harts; five sisters, Judy (Collie) Lambert, Ruby Jewell Lambert, Janice (Philip) Lucas, Sherry (David) Green and Sharon (Lenford) Nelson; one brother, Harley (Mayme) Wiley; five grandchildren, Patricia and Shawna Wiley of Harts, Garrett, Nicholas and Heather Trent of Proctorville, and his church family at the Taplin Freewill Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Freeman Funeral Home with Elders Tom Wiley, Treaby Scuggs, Bazzel Goodman and Lacy Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
