DAVID HARMON
CORBIN, Ky. — David Lee Harmon, 82, of Corbin, Ky., departed this life Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
Born November 18, 1929, in Logan County, he was a son of the late Charley and Marie Kitchen Harmon. Also preceding him in death was one brother, Bill Harmon; one son, Ronnie Lee Harmon, and his wife, Hazel Harmon.
David enjoyed working on Corvettes and watching car racing. He loved Florida.
Those left to cherish his memory include one son, David James Harmon of Corbin; four sisters, Peggy (Darrell) McCormick and Delta (Sherman) Dowdy, both of Chapmanville, and Janet (Jr.) Miller and Hattie (Toots) Vance, both of Danville; four brothers, Charles (Francis), Kermit (Joyce) and Jack (Sharon) all of Chapmanville and John (Kay) of Jonesville, Mich.; one grandchild, Misty (Richard) Tucker of Sherman, Texas; one great-grandchild, Liam Tucker of Sherman, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that loved him dearly and a hero for Charley.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Freeman Funeral Home with Mark Wheatley officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Charley Vance, Nolan McCormick, Nathan McCormick, Mycal Miller and Justin Harmon.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Ray Harmon, Robert Harmon, Charles McCormick, Mike Miller, Johnny Bill Harmon, Jerry Vance and Jimmy Ray Harmon.
Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
