DONALD MUTTERS

CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Donald Gregory Mutters, 54, of Chapmanville, was born June 19, 1957, at Man, a son of Mary Mutters of Mud Fork and the late Donald Henry Mutters. He went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center after suffering a massive heart attack.

Also preceding him in death were his grandparents, Myrtle and Willie Mutters and Tilda and John Cornett and a host of special aunts and uncles.

Donald was a member of the No. 7 Holden Freewill Baptist Church, and was dearly loved by his church family. He was retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways, a licensed W.Va. Auctioneer and member of the Auctioneers of America.

Donald enjoyed going to church, fishing, working on cars, and especially watching his grandbabies playing ball and cheering. He was a very proud Pop-Paw. He also loved riding his motorcycle and playing with his dogs Bowtie and Roscoe.

Additional survivors include his wife, Robin Adams Mutters; daughter, Kelly Samson of Big Creek, that he loved so much; his grandchildren that were truly his whole world, Skylar and Christopher Samson, which reside with him; his mother-in-law (that he called Mom), Mary Riffe Adams; two brothers, William Darrell (Barbara) Mutters of Man and Otto David (Robin) Mutters of Mud Fork, and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 14, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Brothers, Pastor John Rodney Spears and Rev. Arlie Bush, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Moore, Chris Riffe, Mike “Hick” Riffe, Kenny Riffe, and David Donahue, the Brothers of the Wheel and his nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Riffe, Johnny Riffe, David Rainwater, Virgil “Fudd” Kirk, Curly Belcher, Clifford “Snooker” Martin, Ronnie “Moe” Adkins, Barry Mullins, Greg Butcher, Glen Adkins and Robert Thompson.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank LEASA paramedics and the staff of LRMC for all their help and hospitality, Betty Adams for being a best friend, Rodney Spears and Bobby Barnett and all of our church family for being there with us in our time of need, Riley Joe, Jordan and Teresa Evans and staff at the Evans Funeral Home and everyone who prayed and showed their kindness with food, flowers, kind words or just being there. God Bless you all.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.

I was a childhood friend to Darrell and Donald; so sorry to hear of Donald's passing.

In those days they lived on the airport-side of taplin. My prayers go out to Donald's family.
