GLADYS MILLER
CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Gladys Miller, 89, of Godby Branch of Chapmanville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at her residence.
Born March 14, 1923, in Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late William “Bill” and Ida Taylor. Also preceding her in death was her husband of more than 50 years, Fred Miller; one daughter, Wanda Wiley; one son, Roy Miller; two infant grandsons; one grandson, Patrick Wiley; one granddaughter, Tonya Sparks; two sisters, Minnie Sipple and Tilda Owens, and her father and mother-in-law, Leonard and Martha Miller.
Gladys enjoyed going to church, growing flowers, gardening and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include nine daughters, Glenda (L.B.) Pennington, Donna (Raymond) Brewster, Garnell Miller (Glenn Lambert), Nina White, Carolyn Adkins, Rhoda (Jerry) Sparks, Arbutus (Rick) Green, Patricia (Rod) Noe, Jacqueline Miller (Lonus Pridemore); one son, Fredrick (Betty) Miller; one sister, Connie Lowe; 34 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, other family and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rhada and Dignity Hospice.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. today, May 20, at Freeman Funeral Home with Rev. Dean Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at McCoy Miller Cemetery at Big Creek.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be her sons-in-law.
