COLUMBUS, Ohio — Tivis Farley Sr., 67, went peacefully home to be with the Lord Thursday, September 27, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born August 18, 1945, in Harts, he was a son of the late Dixie Mayhorn and Rush Farley. Also preceding him in death was a brother, John McCloud; grandson, Seth Stover; granddaughter, Bridget Casey-Farley, and brother-in-law, Lee Bragg.

Tivis loved hunting and never knew a stranger. He was in the Army and Army National Guard and had many stories to tell about both.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Nancy; brothers, Les (Linda) Evans, Darrell (Marie) Mayhorn and Wandell (Peggy) Mayhorn; sister, Audrey Bragg; children, Tammy (Ron) Stover, Pam (Chris) Coffman, Kimberly (Bob) Kelly, Tivis Jr. (Courtney); Jason (Andrea), Joseph (Randi), Christopher and Dustin (Ivy); 28 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Newcomer Funeral Home to assist with funeral costs.

Services will be held at noon Tuesday, October 2, at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Interment to follow at Obetz Cemetery at Obetz, Ohio.

Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
