WHARNCLIFFE, W.Va. — Bangor “Nig” Cantrell Jr., 53, of Wharncliffe, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, February 28, 2013, at Cabell Huntington Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born December 20, 1959, he was a son of the late Bangor and Ethel Gibson Cantrell. Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Virgil, Ronnie Gene, Burgess “Buck” and Drewey “Jed” Cantrell, and three sisters, Geraldine Morris, and infants Mollie and Lula Cantrell.
Nig was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the New Hope Assembly of God at Switzer.
Survivors include two daughters, Rena M. Cantrell (Jeffery) Estepp and Rachel E. Cantrell; one grandson, Kenneth Michael Estepp; three brothers, Joseph Cantrell (fiancée Shelia Justice) and Bernard (Delana) Cantrell, both of Wharncliffe, and John Cantrell of Ohio; four sisters, Vicki (Harmon) Frye of Stollings, Lois Jean (J.P.) Blankenship of Meador, Kathy Ann (Randy) Bishop of Varney and Grace (Jimmy) Jeffrey of Sarah Ann; a special friend, Freda Cantrell; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, at the Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Shane Dennison officiating. Burial will follow Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Estepp, Allen Hatfield, Ryan Hatfield, Jimmy Jeffrey, Kevin Cantrell and Jacob Browning.
