KANAWHA CITY, W.Va. — John R. Glenn, 83, of Kanawha City, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at CAMC Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.
John served his country in the U.S. Army. He was in private practice, as an Attorney at Law, for 48 years in Logan before retiring to Kanawha City in 2003. He was a graduate of Concord College, earned his Law Degree from Washington and Lee University of Law and a Masters Degree from Marshall University. A member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Kanawha City, he derived great joy in sharing his faith through his Gideon Ministry and attendance and fellowship with his church family at Mount Olivet.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph and Georgia Stuart Glenn; brothers, Joseph, Cap, Stuart, Tennis and Harry; sisters, Muriel Oxley and Nancy Kirk, and several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include his loving wife, Janice Harrison Glenn; daughters, L. Kellie (Gary) Stevens of Kanawha City and Trisha Glenn-Terranova of Charleston, and grandchildren, Michael, Matthew and Maria Terranova, all of Charleston.
A Memorial service and celebration of John’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Hall officiating. At John’s request, his body will be cremated and a private family interment will be held at a later date in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.
