RACINE - A Boone County man was arrested on Feb. 5 on drug charges after pills were seized from his barbershop and search search warrants were issued for a residence along Vine Drive.
Earl Gay, 58, of Racine, was charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. A gun and an unspecified amount of cash were seized thanks to a joint effort by the Boone County Sheriff's Office, State Troopers and members of the US 119 Drug Task Force.
According to Chief Deputy Chad Barker, Gay will face additional charges and his operation was under surveillance for an extended period of time.
"We feel today was a small victory in a constant battle against drug issues," Barker said. "This man has been in our sights for some time and has seemed to slip through the cracks in the past."
