LOGAN - Sixteen individuals have been located and arrested after an extensive warrant roundup by the Logan County Sheriff's Department.

On March 13, the LCSD assisted by the Logan County Probation Office, Logan County Home Confinement, City of Logan Police Department, and the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, attempted to locate approximately 50 individuals who have had a warrant and/or a capias issued on them through Logan County magistrate or circuit Courts. Most of the warrants were for failure to appear in court for a hearing.

Of the 50 individuals sought, 16 were located and arrested. They were charged with failure to appear on misdemeanor as well as felony charges, which included DUI third offense, shooting across a road or near a building, breaking and entering, petit larceny, grand larceny, possession of meth or other illegal narcotics, domestic battery and other charges.

One of the individuals arrested was Donald Jacob Burnsworth, of Omar, who was found to be wanted out of Pennsylvania for failure to appear for retail theft and conspiracy. Other names included in the roundup are Jeremy Noe, Kourtney Methvin, William Hensley, Christopher Justice, Darlene Guy, Sarah Osbourne, Carl Dingess, Darren Adams, Tiffanie Smith, Elizabeth Smoot, Wendell Adams and Ansel Keith Decker.

LCSD Chief Deputy M.A. Mayes said this will be a common practice over the next several months to make sure that every attempt has been made to serve all capiases and warrants that have been issued in Logan County. When individuals are arrested, it is expected and required of them to attend the court hearings so the judicial procedure can proceed.

If anyone has information concerning the location of a person suspected to have a warrant, they are urged to call the LCSD at 304-792-8590 or the LCSD tip line at 304-792-8593. They may also contact Logan 911. All calls can remain anonymous.
