The Chapmanville Middle School football team ran its record to 0-2 on the season with Thursday's 34-6 wiin over Spencer Middle School.

The Tigers had opened up the season in Week 1 with a victory over county rival Man.

CMS, coached by Ron "Lee Lee" Jones, was led by Fred Miller, who scored three touchdowns and racked up 148 yards rushing on 10 carries.

R.J. Jones had 96 yards on the ground on 12 carries and scored a touchdown.

Drew Berry was 6 of 9 passing for 114 yards for the Tigers.

Eli Pridemore added four carries for 48 yards. Andrew Toppings had two carries for 23 yards.

On defense, James Stephens led CMS with eight tackles and three sacks. Taten Carr had nine tackles on the night. Jones had seven tackles and a pair of sacks. Pridemore recorded seven tackles and Daniel Atwood had five tackles and two fumble recoveries. Ruden Linquist also had tackles.

Miller had an interception for the Tigers and Toppings and Brayden Lyndon's had four tackles each. Chapmanville plays this Thursday at Poca in a 7 p.m. kickoff.

OCEANA 36, MAN 0: The Man Middle School football team lost 36-0 at home to Oceana on Thursday at Man's George A. Queen Memorial Stadium.

The loss dropped the Pioneers to 0-2 on the season.

RIPLEY 36, LOGAN 0: The Logan Middle School football team fell 36-0 to Ripley on Thursday night at Logan's Willis-Nisbet Stadium.

The Timberwolves fell to 0-2 and go to Winfield next Thursday night in a 7 p.m. kickoff.
